About the university
The University of Applied Sciences Jena is not only Thuringia's largest university of applied sciences, but also its strongest research centre. It currently has around 4,300 students enrolled in bachelor's and master's degree programmes in engineering, business, and health and social sciences. The proportion of students from abroad is around 20 %.
"Innovation for quality of life - Health, precision, sustainability & networking" is what the university stands for. This goal is achieved through the intensification of interdisciplinary cooperation between the university departments, which allows for synergies to be optimally utilised. Teaching and research are also being interwoven more strongly for this reason.
The university has strong regional ties and is internationally oriented. It offers its students an innovative, scientifically sound and interdisciplinary learning experience. Cooperation with companies, institutions and associations ensures the degree programmes are practice-oriented - this is why a large number of theses are written in close collaboration with external partners.
The intensive research and development at the university make a major contribution to strengthening Thuringia's potential in the technology sector. The master's degree programmes are especially strongly connected to key research areas. In addition, the University of Applied Sciences Jena cooperates with numerous universities across the world and the proportion of exchange students is constantly increasing. Lecturers also work temporarily at other universities in Europe, Asia and Africa.
The Career Service at the University of Applied Sciences Jena is a central organisation that offers companies and institutions support with recruitment. In addition to publishing job offers, there are many other opportunities to make direct contact with students and graduates.
