About the university
Study project-oriented in modern laboratories and lecture theatres and then go boating afterwards, enjoy a coffee on the banks of the Havel or stroll through Berlin - that is what makes Brandenburg an der Havel a university location.
With the founding of the Technical University on 13 April 1992, Brandenburg an der Havel became a university town for the first time in its thousand-year history. In just five years, the site of the former barracks in Brandenburg's military district was transformed into today's campus with renovated buildings and new constructions. The Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences (TH Brandenburg) offers attractive and forward-looking degree programmes in the three disciplines of engineering, business, computer science and media. Over 3,000 students are enrolled at the university and study in modern classrooms and laboratories in a green campus environment. Students particularly appreciate the project-orientated courses on offer. The course content is defined in collaboration with partners from industry, trade and administration in the region and gives students the opportunity to familiarise themselves with their future field of work right from the start. The university particularly emphasises international exchange in teaching, research and studies and maintains more than 50 partnerships with other universities in Europe and overseas.
Theory and practice are closely interlinked right from the start, with term papers and Master's theses being developed primarily in collaboration with companies. The application-orientated research leads to a lively transfer of technology, especially to the region's economy. Since 2016, the TH Brandenburg has been a member of the University Alliance for SMEs. The alliance is currently an association of twelve universities of applied sciences across Germany. The universities are united by the principle of training young people in a labour market-oriented and application-oriented way while at the same time strengthening the transfer of knowledge to the regional economy.
The cooperation for Stellenticket Technische Hochschule Brandenburg is organised by the Career Service of TH Brandenburg.
